Moratorium on Sub-divisions

Yesterday the King County Council, led by our representative Councilmember Sarah Perry, voted to place an emergency 7-month moratorium on new sub-division applications in Fall City, while the county can study our rural character and recommend more long-term protections and zoning controls. This does not stop the current sub-divisions already underway, but it does stop any new additional applications from being submitted.

Fall City temporary moratorium on new subdivisions - Ordinance 19613

The King County Council will hold a hearing for public comments from any affected parties. Community participation and testimony are critical, as the council could overturn the moratorium.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, Room 1001, on the 27th day of June 2023, at 1:30 p.m.

The supporters of Fall City Sustainable Growth made this happen - your donations have funded the legal support required for navigating the county. There is much more work ahead, but it is a VERY big deal to get this level of engagement and interest in our town at the council level.
