Tell the county about Fall City rural character

Voice your concern over the new Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County Sub-Area plan.

The development of the new Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County Sub-area plan means Fall City will lose it’s existing sub-area plan and the protective language included in the plan. We need to partner with the county to create a special overlay for Fall City that includes specific guidelines for defining the rural character of the town and the accompanying development code that prevents more inappropriate developments. Specifically, King County needs to address the gap around infill development in rural towns.

What can you do?
Send the county planners comments and emails. Be specific and request:
1. That Fall City needs a town overlay for defining our rural character.
2. That Fall City needs specific development guidelines and code for lot sizes and setbacks that uphold our rural character.
3. The King County is missing language in the comprehensive plan for protecting rural towns from new development that is inconsistent with the character of the area when the GMA was adopted.
